9 worksheets, from a blank page to a documented evidence base

In tab order. The dashboard and the deadlines are formula-driven; the rest is yours to fill.

  1. 01

    01 Start

How the workbook fits together, and the key regulatory dates with their status — what has passed, what is ahead, and what the Digital Omnibus moved.

  2. 02

    02 Register

Every AI system your organisation uses, buys or builds. Vendor, department, role, deployment status and owner — the register everything else keys off.

  3. 03

    03 Classify

The five-question decision tree — stop at the first yes. Backed by the eight Annex III areas with typical examples, so a borderline system lands somewhere you can explain.

  4. 04

    04 Obligations

The per-article checklist. Set status, owner, evidence and dates against each duty; the dashboard reads straight off this sheet.

  5. 05

    05 Dashboard

Obligation completion, open gaps and a per-system rollup — formula-driven, so it moves as you work rather than needing to be maintained.

  6. 06

    06 Incidents

    Serious-incident log running the Article 73 reporting clock — 2 / 10 / 15-day tiers, counted from awareness.

  7. 07

    07 Evidence

An evidence and sign-off log for audit preparation: what proves each obligation, who signed it off, and when it needs looking at again.

    Art. 18
  8. 08

    08 Deadlines

The regulatory timeline with the original and Omnibus dates side by side, plus space for your own internal milestones.

    09 Reference

Roles, risk tiers, the Article 99 penalty bands and a plain-language glossary — so nobody has to leave the file to check a term.

Why this one

Why start with the tracker

02.12.2027 — the high-risk date

Standalone high-risk obligations apply from 02.12.2027, deferred from 02.08.2026 by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744. Breaches of most obligations carry fines of up to €15m or 3% of worldwide annual turnover, whichever is higher.

Pre-built, not blank

Every sheet comes with sample rows, drop-downs and status tracking. Delete the samples and start typing.

Based on the regulation

Obligations mapped to Articles 5, 6, 26, 27 and 50 and to Annexes I–III, with plain-language explanations beside each.

Works at any size

One AI system or fifty: the register scales by adding rows, and the dashboard follows.

Deployer-first

Most EU organisations are deployers, not providers. The tracker leads with the Article 26 duties.

A path from spreadsheet to register

When you are ready for the obligations to derive themselves, the Veritome toolkit imports the register and picks up where the file leaves off.
Straight answers

Tracker: frequently asked questions

Who is the EU AI Act tracker for?

Any organisation that uses or develops AI systems in the European Union. Whether you are a deployer using third-party AI tools or a provider building your own, the tracker gets the register, the classification and the obligations into one file ahead of the 02.12.2027 high-risk date.

Is the tracker really free?

Yes. We ask for your name and work email so we can send occasional EU AI Act updates; you can unsubscribe at any time. No account, no card.

What is in the workbook?

9 worksheets: a start sheet with the key dates, an AI system register, a classification decision tree, a per-article obligation checklist, a formula-driven dashboard, an Article 73 serious-incident log, an evidence and sign-off log, the regulatory deadlines with the original and Omnibus dates side by side, and a reference sheet with roles, tiers, penalties and a glossary.

What is the difference between the tracker and the Veritome toolkit?

The Excel tracker is a manual starting point. The toolkit takes it further: guided classification, obligations derived from your answers, team workflows, evidence management, generated documentation and ongoing monitoring — with you and your counsel still making the decisions.

Can I share the tracker with my team?

Yes — share it across your organisation. For collaboration with version control, approval workflows and an audit trail, the Veritome toolkit is the right next step.

When is the EU AI Act deadline?

The main date is 02.12.2027, when standalone Annex III high-risk obligations apply — deferred from 02.08.2026 by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, in force since 27.07.2026. Earlier duties already bite: prohibited practices since 02.02.2025, GPAI obligations since 02.08.2025, and Article 50 transparency since 02.08.2026. AI embedded in Annex I products follows on 02.08.2028.
